10 steps to prepare a Marathon: Step 3 Picking the right program: One on one coaching

Tip 5: One on one program

It’s the most expensive program because the Coach is coming onsite for you and you only. That’s the big difference with Online custom programs; you are not on your own, sending feedbacks after the workout(s); the Coach is right there by your side.

So why would you take a personal coach when online programs could do the trick?
Actually, having a personal coach is very motivating since someone is alongside you, on the field, to advise, lead, help, and motivate you.
But moreover, he can see your adaptation to the program, change the workout, adapt the recovery(ies), help with your split times, push you to the best of you, and give you motivational speech and strategies for racing in a day to day or bi or tri weekly training.
Having a coach by your side is the most efficient way to improve your performances, because his feedback is, watching you running, not just times and feelings sent by email.

Now it’s up to you to choose the best program fitted to your needs, goals and motivation.
You can run on your own, follow a generic program and adapt it to your needs, pick up a custom program and send regular feedbacks to the coach, going to a club or running with a group if loneliness is too hard for your training, or simply get a personal coach.
Once you decided which program will be better fitted for you, you are now ready to go for the next step!!!
